Going out for casual walks with a cute friend is great, I get some fresh air and nice afternoon light to play around with while we take photos. I really enjoy doing them, but I had a taste of what could be some #catlyfegoals and that involves staying home. A dear friend of mine has given me the chance to take photos that are a bit more risque than normal. Cyn (IG@cyntakesover)didn’t take off everything, but we had a chance to show more than usual. I generally only have hugs and words to show my gratitude but she understands how much it means to me when I start using a lot of film. This session involved almost every instant film I could think of. There were shots with the Fuji instax mini , instax wide, FP100C, FP3000B and Impossible Project. I went ham and spent a decent amount of money that night, there are no regrets.
Coming across a friend willing to take boudoir photos is rare at the moment, it means so much to me when someone is willing to let me practice on them. Cyn has forever reserved a spot on #teamcatparty . My heart breaks every time I’m reminded that she intends to leave the islands, but these photos will be a great reminder on how she helped me develop my photography.
Natalie also joined in on the shooting. She brought 4 SX-70 Polaroids and used up the left over film in all of them. It was a glorious sight to see the couch covered in instant photos. Our collection combined became the subject of our photos towards the end of the night.
There was one big thing I realized during all of this, aside from how fun it was and wishing I could do this every week, the room we took photos in was not very nice. It didn’t have any soul to the furniture or decorations. It was too barren with just a bed and gave the feel of a crappy porn set or something. My next goal would be to start thrifting, finding items to bring some character into my photos. I’m really hoping we can turn this spot into a lifestyle portrait room.
Thanks so much for the wonderful time Cynthia and Natalie. Can’t wait till we can do this again.
