Wandering around Chinatown

Lately, I’ve been walking up and down Chinatown looking for cats and bringing friends along when someone has time.  I had my Fuji XT-1 on hand with the 12mm Rokinon and 56mm fujinon lenses.

This time around, a fellow film photographer named Cat joined me. She brought along her Canon AE-1, Contax TVS II and her hunk of a boyfriend JP.  We figured out a goal while grabbing a drink at Manifest.  90% of the time, that goal is walk somewhere to grab food so off to Maguro Brothers we went.

On the way over I try to stop along a few stores that tend to have cats near them.  I’m not so sure the owners like me randomly showing up for a cat portrait session, but they must deal with it.

Maguro Bros really hit the spot and made from some colorful food photos.

One reason Chinatown entertains me, the colorful personalities you come across.

JP wasn’t going to let a bum leg and some crutches stop him from being a ninja.

The following shots were taken with a Natura Classica, borrowed from my dear friend Natalie, with some Natura 1600 film. I’m really liking the idea of a pocket-able point and shoot to just carry around.

The cover photo was taken by Cat as she played with my Fuji XT1.  You can find her and JP on instagram.  They have a rad feed that you should definitely check out.
