Polaroid OneStep 2 Unboxing

So initially I didn’t have any immediate plans to get the new camera from Polaroid Originals assuming that it would have been a few hundred and probably out of stock for a while.  I dropped by Salt Kakaako to check out Hungry Ear Records for some new music.   On the way out I did my typical stop in at Treehouse to say hi, low and behold the new Polaroid was on display.  To make it even more tempting, the price wasn’t excessive like I had expected it to be.   In total this will still end up costing a pretty penny, but this new camera uses cheaper packs of film thanks to the battery being removed.  This price drop for i-type film is even more noticeable when you count the extra few dollars discounted once Polaroid Originals became official and not just Impossible film.

The camera will have a difficult time indoors without the use of flash but I still felt the need to test how it would be.  I also have to remember to make sure I’m a few feet back for the focus to be accurate.   I’ll be taking it out more when I do some outdoor shoots and if I can find enough light indoors too.   I’m generally not very comfortable with direct flash but maybe this is something I’ll have to get used to for using this camera.

Beach D.VA

The wonderful thing about Overwatch is the huge variety of outfits available for the cosplay community.   Masapuff picked up a swimsuit and we hit up the beach for some photos and snacks.  The tide has been messing with the spots I frequent in town so we switched it up a few times to see what worked best.  The only downside to moving so much is having to clean off the sand before getting into the car.  As much as I never expected to use it, the tilt screen for these newer cameras can be pretty useful.   I couldn’t get the perspective I desired until I held the camera way above my head and it would have been much more difficult to focus without such a useful feature.

Everything was closed

There was a badly planned Sunday where Plan A, B, and C fell through since we started a bit too late.   On the bright side I still had some boba and a neat spot to snap a few photos.  Sachi’s shirt had some great print of a koi fish that deserved some attention.
